Arlen Lasseter

Founding attorney

Liens, payment claims and bond claims for contractors and suppliers.

Arlen spent his early working years on survey and layout crews, setting stakes before a foundation was poured. It is where he learned that most disputes on a job start with a missing piece of paper. He opened the firm after hearing the same complaint from trades again and again: the lawyer's fee was a mystery until the bill came. So he set the fees, posted them and kept them posted. Arlen takes the lien and payment work himself and reads every contract the firm marks up.

How Arlen works

Arlen starts every matter with the calendar. Before he drafts anything he finds the date that matters, whether it is a notice window, a filing deadline or the end of a repair window, and tells you what it means for the price and the plan.

What to send him

The contract, the last invoice, the last day you worked and any lien waiver you signed. If you are not sure whether something matters, send it.

What he will tell you plainly

When a deadline has passed, when a claim costs more to pursue than it will return and when another lawyer would serve you better.
