What flat means

In the fee, out of the fee, and past it

  • In the fee

The work on the card, from the first call to the finished letter, notice or marked-up contract.

    • Every call about that work

    • One round of changes

    • No hourly clock

  • Charged at cost

Money we pay to someone else for you, listed in your quote before we spend it.

    • Recording and filing charges

    • Process servers and courier

    • Copies of public records

  • A new quote

Anything bigger than the card. We stop, say what it is, and quote it before we start it.

    • Arbitration or a lawsuit

    • Expert inspections

    • Negotiating with the other side

Fees

About the fees

Do I pay up front?

You pay the flat fee when you accept the written quote, before we begin.

What if I only need part of what is on the card?

Tell us on the first call. If the job is smaller, we quote it smaller.

Do you take payments over time?

Ask. For the larger fees we can split the payment into two or three, in writing, before the work starts.

Can the other side be made to pay my fee?

Sometimes a contract or the law shifts fees to the side that loses. We look for that clause and tell you what it means for you.

Know what it costs. Call about the job.

A flat quote comes by email, before any work.
